My name is Marily and I am student who has been volunteering at CRIL since Fall 2024.

What is one thing you learned as a volunteer at CRIL?

One thing I learned from volunteering at CRIL is how important it is to have a strong community to advocate for what CRIL stands for.  

What advice would you give to future volunteers?

Some advice for future volunteers is that you're not there to help the consumers, but rather to guide them into being able to help themselves to be more independent, hence the IL for independent living in CRIL. 

Why is it important to give back to the community?

It's important to give back to the community to help make it a thriving and flourishing community where everyone helps one another.

Why should individuals volunteer at CRIL? 

One should volunteer at CRIL because it’s an amazing place to grow as a person and be able to learn about the world from different perspectives.
