I am a lifelong learner, I enjoy volunteering in community outings, reading and listening to Gospel and Jazz music. I joined CRIL as a volunteer in 2019, later October of 2019 was hired on as a Housing Coordinator in the Hayward office, in 2020 I was re-assigned to the satellite office in Livermore as the Tri-Valley Independent Living Coordinator where I assist consumers in various areas such as BENEFIT APPLICATIONS: Medi-Cal, Cal-Fresh, Social Security etc. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: I assist consumers with applying for financial assistance with Seasons of Sharing for move-in deposits, past due rent, and household furniture request also, I assist consumers with financial assistance applications to programs like SPECTRUM and PGE via CARE & FERA for past due utility bills. AFFORDABLE HOUSING: I teach one on one affordable housing search skills, assist consumers with affordable housing online & paper applications; ADVOCACY: I advocate for consumers and teach consumers independent living skills that support their autonomy and ability to live in the community of their choice. REFERRAL SERVICE: I provide consumers with referral services linking them additional services offered such as (ADRC) Aging and Disability Resource Connection, in addition to CRIL’S newest services offered at our main office Door to Door/ WAV, BLIND SERVICES along with other community services that meet their stated needs.
